Haslam bounces back from crash to take points in France

Kawasaki Racing Team's Leon Haslam finished with ninth and seventh place finishes in Sunday's two races after crashing out of Saturday's race in round 11 of the World Superbike Championship at the Magny-Cours circuit in France.

“It was a tough weekend. And I knew it was going to be tough, especially with my main issue this year being struggling under braking. There are five or six places on track where you have to make a maximum stop.

"I knew Toprak’s strength was there so for me that was kind of predictable with the way he works the bike. For my part, from yesterday to the third race today I found a lot more consistency and better pace but it just was not enough.

"I had a good battle with Tom Sykes and managed to beat him in the last race but we were missing two or three tenths of a second a lap at least. Having not being here for four years and then losing Friday’s two crucial free practice sessions to poor weather I was always going to be up against it at this round but we’ll move on to Argentina and try and make amends there.”
